Dead Finks – Eden
Berlin post-punk outfit Dead Finks are back with “Eden”, the first single from their upcoming fourth album on Bretford Records. Like The Fall before them, they’ve mastered the “always the same, always different” approach—familiar enough to recognize instantly, fresh enough to keep things interesting.
The band’s core lineup features Joseph Thomas on guitar and vocals, Erin Violet handling bass and vocals, Ivan Krasnov on guitar, and Nick Jongen on drums. For “Eden”, they brought in Phương Vũ on synthesiser and additional guitar, adding new textures to their sound.
What sets this track apart is the increased focus on clarity and dynamics. Sure, the music still blares with the same exuberant energy they’re known for, but now there’s more breathing room. Shimmering guitars weave through warped shoegaze textures, while the rhythm section locks into a steady groove. The chorus hits hard with their signature bratty, singalong quality—it’s an instant earworm.
